Book Club Friday

It's Friday! Yeah for the end of the week, and for today being my day off from work! After my eventful morning (run, cleaning, and laundry)...I can finally sit down and do my post for the day! Today, I'm linking up again with Heather andKatie for Book Club Friday!

Today, I'm sharing the book, The Lucky One, by Nicholas Sparks. Sparks is one of my favorite authors, and I've ready many of his books.

I read this one awhile ago and enjoyed it, and I want to watch the movie now to see how it compares to the book!

Here is the synopsis:
In his 14th book, bestselling author Nicholas Sparks tells the unforgettable story of a man whose brushes with death lead him to the love of his life.

Is there really such thing as a lucky charm? The hero of Nicholas Sparks's new novel believes he's found one in the form of a photograph of a smiling woman he's never met, but who he comes to believe holds the key to his destiny. The chain of events that leads to him possessing the photograph and finding the woman pictured in it is the stuff of love stories only a master such as Sparks can write.

Dirty Girl Mud Run Recap

Since I didn't add alot of detail in my post earlier, I'm going to show you some of the fun from my Dirty Girl Mud Run a couple of weeks ago!

I ran with a group of friends from my hometown and a few other ladies from some surrounding towns! It was so much fun! For those of you that don't know what it is, the run is a 5k (3.1 miles), with some obstacles and mudpits throughout!

We had a great time and were definitely muddy at the end! It was so awesome to see all the ladies who participated during the day, all running and supporting a great cause, the fight against breast cancer.

Here are a few photos I got from: http://www.capstonephotostore.com

Oh, How Pinteresting

Sorry for the absence yesterday, but I'm back today for Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday with The Vintage Apple.

On Monday night, the girls from work and I got together for a Pinterest night! We all brought snacks and appetizers and then each of us made a craft or DIY project we had picked from Pinterest! We had so much fun and are already planning another one around Christmas.

Here is how our projects turned out:

The wreath that I made...but it's not quite finished. I'm going to add some more flowers for sure. Any other suggestions on what to add to it?

Weekend Wonders

And another week begins! I had a wonderful weekend, so here I am to share it with you!

Friday
Friday I worked and then went to my cousin's football game. He plays for Bellevue West. Even though they lost, he played pretty well and it was good to see my parents, grandma, aunt and uncle!

Go Thunderbirds!

Saturday
Ryan had to go into work in the morning, so I went with him and my sister and I went on a 6 mile run on one of the trails in Lincoln. It was a beautiful morning for a run and it was great to have some time to visit with my sister!

Saturday afternoon we went to the Doane vs Wesleyan football game.  Ryan is a Doane football alumni, and this is a huge rivalry game, so it was fun to be back!

After the football game, we headed to a wedding.  One of Ryan's Doane friends and fellow accounting majors got married. It was a very pretty wedding and we got to spend some time with some friends we haven't seen in a while!

A few of us girls with the gorgeous bride!

 Cute decorations at the ceremony.

More decorations.

Doane college group plus me!

Sunday
On Sunday morning, we went back for Ryan's nephew's 2nd birthday party! Cael had a Thomas the Train themed party and it was fun to get together with some family. We had lunch, cake and ice cream and then spent most of the afternoon outside enjoying the weather.

Ryan and I with his nephew Cael, and his goddaughter Dani. (they're both so adorable)

We ended the weekend with mass before heading back home, finally! It was a fun weekend, but with a lot of time spent on the road, we were glad to get back!

Book Club Friday

Happy Friday everyone!! Yeah, I am so thankful the work week is on it's last day and the weekend is ready to start!

"This is the day which the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

Today I am linking up again with Heather from Blonde...Undercover Blonde and Katie from The Nerdy Katie for Book Club Friday.

Today, I'm going to share a few of my favorite books from one of my favorite authors, Mary Higgins Clark.  Her books are full of mysteries, along with a little romance in some of them. They always keep me on my toes and the plot always gives you a surprise you weren't expecting! She has many, many books to choose from and I've read quite a few of them, but here are a few of my personal top choices!

Inspire Me: Healthy and Inspire Me: Dream Job

It's Thursday again, time for our Inspire Me Thursday link up party with Kristen and Raven! First comes Inspire Me: Healthy.
All In My Twenties

For this past week, I've done good on the working out part of things! I've been working the midshift at work this week, which means I have my mornings free. So I've gotten to enjoy the crisp morning air with a couple of nice runs! And I love getting my workout done right away in the morning without having to get up too early.
As far as the eating portion of staying healthy, I've been slacking a little. We had food day at work on Tuesday, in which I didn't have very good self-control with. So I'll try for a better week this time.
This is my inspiration for the week, which is so true for me. I'm not going to lose any weight if I keep snacking the way I do...any tips on how to help myself to snack less? Anyone want to come put locks on all my snacks at home?

And now for the second part of the link up, Inspire Me: Dream Job. Here are a few of my dream jobs!

#1 - Meredith Grey
If I was Meredith Grey, I could be an awesome surgeon, get to see lots of interesting trauma cases, take care of sick patients, and be married to Dr. McDreamy (aka Dr. Shepherd). Isn't he so handsome?

#2 - Jeannie from Ellen (or anyone else that works for Ellen)
How cool would it be to work for Ellen and help out on her show, travel across the country, give out prizes and money to people, and meet all sorts of celebrities and wonderful people!

#3 - Fitness Instructor
I would love to be at the gym and get to workout and burn some calories while also having fun doing classes with other women! And it would be great to get paid to workout!

Versatile Blogger

I was kindly nominated by Christina from My Life, Laughs, and Love for a Versatile Blogger Award. It's an award for people like me who are new to blogging! And it's an opportunity for awesome people like Christina to learn more about me.

Here are the rules:
1. Nominate up to 15 fellow bloggers who are relatively new to blogging
2. Let the nominated bloggers know that they have been nominated for this award
3. Share 7 random facts about yourself
4. Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you
5. Add the Versatile Blogger Award picture to your post/blog

I just did one of these not too long ago, so I'm not going to nominate anyone right now, especially because most of the bloggers I follow are awesome and not very new to blogging, they are all pros!!

So here are 7 random facts about me:
1- I eat carrots with peanut butter, which some people find very weird.
2- My parents both come from big families, so I have over 20 cousins on each side of the family and I love our huge family gatherings!

4- I love to play board games, especially Scrabble!

Weekend Wonders

Hello Everyone...it's the start of a new week! How was everyone's weekend? This is how mine went...

Friday
On Friday night, we went to watch our friend's band play downtown in Lincoln.  Their band is called Faded Black and they played at Knickerbockers.

Our friend Steve is the drummer in the back.

After the show, we headed to one of the other bars downtown with a few friends and shared a couple of these delicious fishbowls!!

The girls and I after the show.

Saturday
On Saturday, I got to participate in the Dirty Girl Mud Run 5K in Lincoln. It's a 5K run with obstacles that is a fundraiser for breast cancer. I did this with a team of 14 awesome ladies and we had a blast!

Our great team!

Ashley and I after the run...muddy :)

After the run, we headed to Omaha to go out to the piano bar for the night! It was so much fun to dance and sing all night!

Ready for the piano bar.

Sunday
On Sunday, Ryan and I went to church and then had a lazy day around the house. I did a little laundry, took a nap, and we watched football. For supper, we made BBQ chicken pizza on the grill with some potatoes.

Have a good week everyone!
