Weekend Update

It's time for the last weekend update of 2012...crazy! Linking up with Sami and Leeann, here we go!

Friday night consisted of a movie date with my husband!

If you haven't seen this movie, it's a good romantic comedy!

Saturday morning, I went to a class at my fitness center and got a good workout in!

Then, it was time to celebrate my cousin's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding, and it was great to see alot of my family! We had a good time dancing and ended the night at Applebee's for late night drinks and appetizers!

The happy couple! Congrats Brandon and Malaina!

Sunday, I spent most of the day on the couch as I am trying to fight a bad cold.

Also, although my family on my dad's side celebrated the wedding of my cousin this weekend, we also lost a great man in our family.  My uncle has been fighting cancer since earlier this year, and he lost his battle on Saturday. We will all miss him dearly and will remember him best for being a great musician, awesome cook and just a wonderful guy! We will all miss him very much!

No Longer a Boots Virgin

I'm excited to announce that I finally bought myself a pair of tall boots, yeah! For the past couple years, I continually see my friends in their super, cute, tall, boots with their skinny jeans, and I've been wanting a pair of my own.

After looking for awhile, I finally found a pair I liked and a pair that fit! ...it's hard to find a size 11 boot that is also big enough to fit my larger than normal calves! Trust me, having big feet is not fun when trying to buy any type of cute shoes!

Anyways, enough of my complaining...here is the pair I got!

They are Madden Girl Zerge boots, and so far, I'm loving them!

What do you think? Any other suggestions on good brands for when I'm ready to get another pair?

Side note...I also found out that my left calf is a little bigger than my right because it takes more effort for me to zip the left boot. Anyone else have that problem?

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's Ok Thursday

It's Linkup time for It's Ok Thursday with Amber and Neely, yeah!

Its Ok Thursdays
It's Ok...
...That I wish I had a full day to just lay on the couch and relax after being a busybody this weekend
...That even though I live in Nebraska and should be used to it, I hate these single digit temperatures
...That I bought the Nashville soundtrack (ABC TV show), and continually listen to about 4 songs
...That I wish it was Saturday so we can celebrate my cousin's wedding

....That I hate cancer and what it does to those we love

...That I finally was able to go to my fitness class last night and was super excited to go after missing it for over a month

...That I didn't blog for a week (I use the excuse that I was home for Christmas and had slower internet service)

Hope your Thursday is OK too! Thanks for reading!

Friday night...graduating party with some friends...good times!

Saturday...we went to visit a family friend in the hospital and then went out to eat to celebrate my sister's graduation from college.

Sunday...church, then some basketball at the gym and an afternoon nap.

Sunday night...Christmas with Ryan's family,

and then some Pitch to end the night (which us females won)

Monday...workout in the morning with my mom and sister, and then I had to work at the hospital

Tuesday...Merry Christmas! (our first Christmas together married),

Christmas with my family, and more cards, and then Christmas with Ryan's extended family.

We came home Tuesday night and it was back to work today for both of us.
How was your Christmas holiday?

It's Ok Thursday

Linking up again today with Amber and Neely, enjoy!

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK:

>That it snowed 8 inches in Nebraska last night, I guess we will have a white Christmas now :)

>That since it snowed, I rode with a friend last night and my car is still covered in snow (fun times I will be having when I clean it off after work today)

>I'm very jealous of all my teacher friends who got a snow day today

>I have a huge list of things to do tonight before I pack and get ready to go home for Christmas

>I miss my husband who has been out of town all week for work

>I don't believe the world is going to end tomorrow

>This post is a little lame because I'm doing it quick at work since I wasn't home last night to do it on my own laptop

>That I'm very excited I now have 30 followers, yeah!

Have a wonderful holiday weekend! See you all after Christmas for an update!

Weekend Update

Friday night we drove around and looked at all the pretty lights in town and then had a relaxing evening at home aftewards.

Saturday morning, we participated in the Jingle Jog in Lincoln with some family! It was pretty nice out and it was fun to get together.

My cousin's 7 day old baby lamb, Bartlebee, was the star of the morning! Isn't he so cute?

After the run, we went to my aunt and uncle's house and made 800 cream cheese wedding mints for my cousin's wedding in a couple weeks! We had a fun afternoon of mint-making.

I don't have any pictures, but on Saturday night my friend, who dates my cousin, had a Christmas party! We had a blast and got to see a lot of friends!

On Sunday morning, my dad and I ran in the Ugly Sweater Run in Omaha. It was pretty chilly, but we had fun and it was entertaining to see everyone's attire! Next year, we need to plan further ahead to find some really ugly sweaters!

After the run, Ryan and I finished some Christmas shopping and then came home for a lazy afternoon and some laundry.

I was finally home to make supper Sunday night, biscuits and gravy!

And finally, our Christmas tree is decorated! Yeah for Christmas being a little over a week away! I have a lot of wrapping to do this week. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

We continue to keep these families in our prayers as they go through this very tough time.

It's Ok Thursday

Today, I'm linking up again with Amber and Neely for It's Ok Thursdays!

Its Ok Thursdays
And today...it is OKAY...

~ that our Christmas tree is still not decorated (I have 12 days to get going) because I want to do it together as a couple and Ryan hasn't been home to help me
~ that we lost the 2nd round game in vball league tournament last night because the ref made a horrible call (yes, it's just women's league and I'm still bitter)
~ to be jealous of all my friends and family still in school that get 3 weeks off for Christmas break while I still have to go to work
~ to be slightly depressed that the Husker volleyball team isn't playing in the Final Four this weekend
~ that this dry, cold weather is causing my hands to be oober cracked and dry, which makes them feel wonderful when I spread Purell all over them 50 times a day at work
~ that I'm super excited about the Secret Santa Sway blog gift I got in the mail earlier this week (more details to come in a later post)
~ that I'm really excited about getting 4 new followers in the past week (may not seem like many, but to me its amazing)
~ that I wish I had one day off of work a week to just read blogs and comment

~and finally...it's ok that:

12 Twelve 12

It's the last day this can happen...to have the same number for the month, date and year...you better go out and do something exciting today!!

I will be going to work, yeah! But who knows, maybe we will get some crazy patients at the hospital today! Since it's 12-12-12 today, I thought I would share with you my top 12 favorites about the Christmas season (not in any particular order):

1. Christmas Movies. My favorites are Home Alone, Elf, It's a Wonderful Life, and A Christmas Story)

2. Lights. I love driving around and seeing all the beautiful lights and decorations)

3. Food. Christmas snacks and cookies are the best, and I have this theory that I won't gain any weight since it's Christmas time and my theory never works!

4. Family. I get to see so many people during this time and my brother and sister also get a break from school so that means more bonding time!

5. Parties. I love getting together with friends to drink, play games and even wear ugly sweaters.

6. Snow. I love a pretty Christmas snow, just as long as it doesn't prevent me from driving anywhere.

7. Gifts. I love giving to others, finding that perfect gift is always the best!

8. Christmas music. Right now, in my car, at work and at home, it's holiday music all the way! My current favorites are the Biebs and Francesca's albums.

9. Decorating the tree. Ours is currently a work in progress, but I'll share a finished picture when we are done. (this is not ours, just a pretty one I found online)

10. Sales. Although I hate fighting the crowds, I love a good sale when I find it.

11. Blog reading. I love reading about everyone else's holiday ideas, decorations, and celebrations!

12. Christ! Jesus came into this world on Christmas as a little baby to save us and give us the ultimate gift of eternal life. How awesome that we get to celebrate his birth on Christmas!

Also, go check out my friend Samantha's blog today! She is sharing about a new online boutique run by a wonderful lady in our hometown! She has some really cute things!
