Weekend Shenanigans

Monday is looming again and I'm not excited about it... but I am excited about having a great weekend, so I'll share that with you!

Friday...

We went to watch the state basketball semifinals that our hometown team was playing in, and one of my cousins is also on the team! After the game we went downtown with some friends to celebrate and drink!

A few of the friends I got to catch up with this weekend, as I failed in taking pics with the rest of them.

Saturday...

Saturday was spent at home doing alot of laundry, dishes, and I baked some chocolate chip cookies.

Saturday night, we had supper with some of my aunts, uncles and cousins before the game. Then we headed to the championship game at the Bob Devaney Sports Center! The Jaguars played a great game and won the state finals!! It was very exciting as it was the first year of our consolidated school with the town 6 miles down the road from ours!

Sunday...

Sunday we slept in, which felt wonderful and then had a lazy day! We watched the Creighton basketball team win the MVC tournament! And we chose not to go outside at all, thanks to a crappy snowstorm/blizzard that decided to come through the area and was much worse than the weather channel expected.

  IT'S OK...
...that I've decided having a husband who works out of town a lot SUCKS! ...that I'm excited for some warmer temps coming to Nebraska soon ...that I'm super excited after we found out we will be aunt and uncle to twins in July, not just one, plus our other niece or nephew arriving in May ...that March is here, meaning it's March Madness, meaning the NCAA bball tourney is coming soon ...that I've been super lazy about cooking this week  ...that I loved this science experiment they did on Ellen last week, anyone else see it? (fast forward to 5:18 in the video)

The Great Flood...and more!

Sunday night, Ryan and I started watching a new series running on the History Channel called The Bible (thanks to recommendations from my parents and others)! It's a five week series, which pretty much goes through some of the main stories from the Bible. It was really good and I'm looking forward to watching it the next four weeks. The first week covered Noah and the great flood, Abraham and Sarah receiving a son, Moses freeing the slaves and parting the Red Sea. It's also a great thing to watch during this Lenten season as we prepare for Holy Week and the Lord's resurrection on Easter.

Shenanigans of my Weekend

I had an awesome, relaxing weekend with my husband! We spent the majority of it at home and it was so nice to just lay around and not have anything to do. 

On Saturday night, we rented the movie Argo and it was really good! If you haven't seen it yet, you should see it. It was great, and it's even better that it's based on a true story.

On Sunday, we met Ryan's parents, brother, sister-in-law and nieces in Omaha to eat, so it was good to see all of them! His nieces are so much fun!

Nothing else to share from the weekend, so it was low key, but good!

Wow...this is awesome!

Happy Friday and happy weekend to you all! This week has been a great week on the blog for me and I am so excited! It's reminded me why I started blogging and that there are some awesome bloggers out there who can become great friends, even if we may never meet face to face.

First of all, thanks to Jenna at Demure in Diamonds, I'm participating in my first button swap during March! Button swaps are a great way to get your blog out there for others to see and read! So I really appreciate this awesome lady for swapping with me! I just found her blog recently through a giveaway and am excited to follow it and get to know her better! So, if you want, go check out her wonderful blog!!

Another great thing happened in the blog world this week called Blog Connect! Helene at Helene in Between started this great site for all bloggers to do what it says, connect! There is a forum to post questions, tips, topic ideas, etc. You can also advertise on the site. I think it will be a great resource for all bloggers, whether you are just starting out or have been blogging for years. So thanks for Helene for putting it together and getting it started!

And, finally, a super nice blogger named Jade at An Organized Mess gave me a free month of ad space on her blog after I commented on one of her posts, how generous of her! Go check out her blog too!

These three things in particular, along with all the wonderful followers and commenters on my blog assure me that starting this blog was a good thing and I am loving it more and more every day!! So thank you, thank you to all of you! 

One more thing, a good family friend of ours could use some prayers next week as he undergoes surgery. I would really appreciate it if you would keep him and his family in your thoughts.
