About a month ago, the wife of a guy from my small hometown was in a bad boating accident. She was sucked under the boat, which ended in one of her legs being amputated at the knee, the other leg with pretty severe injuries, and injuries to her arms as well.
Coming from a small town, we all pull together at a time like this, and since then I have been reading her story on Caring Bridge, and all I can say is WOW.
This woman is amazing! She endured this horrible accident, but has taken the most positive and faith-filled outlook on everything! Reading her posts on Caring Bridge inspires me every day to do my best and have a positive outlook on life. She is a young wife and mother of 2 little kids, and yet she is giving 120% every day in her journey to get better! She is always talking about the good things in her day, being thankful for all those helping her, and turning to God for her positives and struggles.
She also reminds me every time I read about her story that I am pretty well off, and the things that I complain about are very minor compared to the challenges others deal with every day!
So I pray that she continues to do well and get stronger and healthier and I am so thankful for her inspiration to me and so many others!
Things like this definitely put perspective on life and remind me to be thankful for my blessings from the Lord every day!
